Sell Your Perryville House at the Head of the Bay
Perryville sits where the Susquehanna River meets the head of the Chesapeake Bay, across from Havre de Grace. It’s the last stop on MARC’s Penn Line, and Rodgers Tavern, where George Washington stopped on his travels, still stands near the river. I’m Evan Weissman. I buy Perryville houses for cash as-is, and I list them too when the market will pay more.

River Town Homes and Newer Neighborhoods
Near the river and the old town, houses are older frame and brick homes, some from the 1800s, on small lots. Around them are 1950s through 1970s ranchers, and farther out there are newer subdivisions and townhome sections near Route 40 and I-95. Perry Point, with the VA medical center, takes up a big piece of the riverfront.
Older houses here often need roofs, foundations and electrical work. Newer ones usually need cosmetic updates or a system that’s wearing out. I’ll buy either.
I’ll look at almost any house: single-family, townhome, row, twin, or multi-family, any age, any condition, any situation.
Commuters, Bridges and the River
The MARC station makes Perryville a commuter town for Baltimore, and the Hatem and Tydings bridges tie it to Harford County. Those are real advantages for a listing. Lots close to the tidal Susquehanna can fall in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area, and low ground near the river can flood.
If your house has taken on water, or you’re not sure about the Critical Area, tell me. I’ll factor it in either way.
The casino and the shopping near the I-95 exit brought more traffic to the Route 222 and Route 40 area over the years. For houses close to those roads, noise and traffic can matter to buyers. Quieter streets near the river and in the older part of town sell differently, and I price them separately.
Town Taxes and Cecil Records
Perryville adds a town tax of 0.3834 per $100 inside its limits, according to SDAT’s 2026-27 table. Estates go to the Cecil Register of Wills at 129 East Main Street in Elkton. The county tax sale was June 1 in 2026, per SDAT.
Three Ways to Sell
Option 1: I buy it as it sits
No repairs, showings or cleanup. I don’t charge a commission on my purchase, and you choose when to close.
Option 2: List with me as your agent
Updated houses near the MARC station can draw commuter buyers. A listing costs a commission and time, and I’ll show you both nets.
Option 3: Renovate and Sell Together
Where it fits, Evan can handle and pay for the updates under a written agreement, then sell on the open market. The cost of that work is repaid at settlement. You keep ownership until the sale. There is no guaranteed sale price or profit. Review any agreement with your own attorney before you sign.
I renovate most houses I buy with my own crew, and if I partner with another local buyer on yours, I’ll tell you before you sign.
Side-by-side paths: cash offer vs listing in Maryland.
Behind on Mortgage Payments
If you are behind on your mortgage or facing foreclosure, start with free help before you decide anything. A HUD-approved housing counselor costs nothing and can walk you through options with your servicer, such as catching up, a repayment plan, forbearance, or a loan modification. The Maryland HOPE hotline, 1-877-462-7555, connects homeowners with those counselors. If you have court papers or a sale date, I also recommend talking with a Maryland attorney. I can’t promise to stop a foreclosure, and I won’t pressure you. If you and your counselor decide a sale makes sense, I’ll put a cash number next to a listing plan so you can compare. More here: behind on mortgage or facing foreclosure.
