We Buy Houses for Cash Across Wicomico County, Maryland
Wicomico County sits in the middle of the Lower Eastern Shore, with Salisbury at its center where Route 13 and Route 50 cross. The Wicomico River runs west to the Bay and the Nanticoke forms the western edge, while Delmar straddles the Delaware line. Outside the towns, it’s farmland and poultry country. I’m Evan Weissman. I buy Wicomico houses for cash as-is, and I list them too when that pays more.

Wicomico Towns I Cover
My main page here is Salisbury, covering the historic districts, post-war neighborhoods and city taxes. I also buy in Fruitland, Delmar, Hebron, Pittsville, Willards, Sharptown, Mardela Springs, Parsonsburg and the countryside in between.
Each of the smaller towns has its own character. Delmar shares its name and its Main Street with Delmar, Delaware. Sharptown sits on the Nanticoke. Pittsville and Willards are small towns along Route 50 toward Ocean City.
I’ll look at almost any house: single-family, townhome, row, twin, or multi-family, any age, any condition, any situation.
Old Homes, Rentals and Farm Lots
Salisbury has the most variety: Victorian and early 1900s homes near downtown, post-war ranchers and Cape Cods, and newer subdivisions out toward the bypass. Many houses in and around the city have been rentals for years. In the smaller towns, there are older frame homes on Main Streets and newer houses on the edges. Out in the county, there are farmhouses, manufactured homes on land and newer homes on large lots with wells and septic.
Salisbury adds a city property tax of 1.0332 per $100 on top of the county rate, according to SDAT’s 2026-27 table, and the smaller towns have their own rates. Unincorporated addresses pay only the county rate.
Wicomico Records and Costs
Estates go to the Wicomico County Register of Wills in the courthouse at 101 North Division Street in Salisbury. The county tax sale was June 9 in 2026, according to SDAT. Wicomico doesn’t charge a county transfer tax. Recordation is $3.50 per $500, plus the state transfer tax.
If you own a Wicomico rental that has worn out after years of tenants, I’ll buy it occupied or empty, as it is.
Three Ways to Sell
Option 1: I buy the house as it is
No repairs, cleanouts or showings. I pay no commission on my purchase, and you choose when to close.
Option 2: List it with me as your agent
Updated homes in Salisbury and Fruitland can sell well with a listing. That path costs a commission and time, so I’ll show you both nets.
Option 3: Renovate and Sell Together
Where it fits, Evan can handle and pay for the updates under a written agreement, then sell on the open market. The cost of that work is repaid at settlement. You keep ownership until the sale. There is no guaranteed sale price or profit. Review any agreement with your own attorney before you sign.
I renovate most houses I buy with my own crew, and if I partner with another local buyer on yours, I’ll tell you before you sign.
Side-by-side paths: cash offer vs listing in Maryland.
Behind on Mortgage Payments
If you are behind on your mortgage or facing foreclosure, start with free help before you decide anything. A HUD-approved housing counselor costs nothing and can walk you through options with your servicer, such as catching up, a repayment plan, forbearance, or a loan modification. The Maryland HOPE hotline, 1-877-462-7555, connects homeowners with those counselors. If you have court papers or a sale date, I also recommend talking with a Maryland attorney. I can’t promise to stop a foreclosure, and I won’t pressure you. If you and your counselor decide a sale makes sense, I’ll put a cash number next to a listing plan so you can compare. More here: behind on mortgage or facing foreclosure.
