Sell Your Savage or North Laurel House on Your Timeline
Savage grew up around a 19th-century textile mill on the Little Patuxent River, and the mill still stands, now full of shops. Nearby, in Savage Park, the Bollman Truss Bridge from 1869 is the last of its kind. North Laurel stretches south from there along Route 1 toward the Patuxent. I’m Evan Weissman. I buy houses in both for cash as-is, and I’ll list yours when that pays more.
Call or text (410) 498-7473, or request a cash offer.
Old Savage Village
Around the mill, old Savage has mill-era houses: small frame homes, some duplexes and a few larger houses on hilly, narrow streets. They have character, and they often have the repairs that come with age, like stone or block foundations, old wiring, uneven floors and small lots with little parking.
Those houses can be hard for some financed buyers, especially when an appraiser flags a repair. I’m used to them. I buy them as-is and handle the work after closing.
Old Savage is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a district. That listing honors the history, but it doesn’t by itself stop a private owner from making changes, so don’t assume your hands are tied. Check with the county if you’re unsure about a specific project.
I’ll look at almost any house: single-family, townhome, row, twin, or multi-family, any age, any condition, any situation.
North Laurel and the Route 1 Corridor
North Laurel is mostly newer: 1970s to 2000s single-family homes, townhome communities and HOAs, near Route 1, Route 216 and Whiskey Bottom Road. These homes usually need cosmetic work or a system or two. Sellers here often call for life reasons, like a move, a divorce or a rental that stopped making sense, rather than because the house is in bad shape.
If yours would sell well on the market, I’ll tell you. If you’d rather skip showings and a buyer’s inspection list, my cash offer is there.
Howard County Records
For an estate, the Howard Register of Wills is at 9250 Judicial Way in Ellicott City. Howard’s 2026 tax sale is June 3, per SDAT. Houses close to the Little Patuxent can sit in a floodplain, so check your flood zone.
Three Ways to Sell
Option 1: I buy it without prep
No repairs or showings, and no commission on my side. You choose the settlement date with the title company.
Option 2: List it with me
A clean North Laurel townhome often sells quickly on the market. You’d pay a commission and wait on financing, and I’ll lay out both nets.
Option 3: Renovate and Sell Together
Where it fits, Evan can handle and pay for the updates under a written agreement, then sell on the open market. The cost of that work is repaid at settlement. You keep ownership until the sale. There is no guaranteed sale price or profit. Review any agreement with your own attorney before you sign.
I renovate most houses I buy with my own crew, and if I partner with another local buyer on yours, I’ll tell you before you sign.
Side-by-side paths: cash offer vs listing in Maryland.
Behind on Mortgage Payments
If you are behind on your mortgage or facing foreclosure, start with free help before you decide anything. A HUD-approved housing counselor costs nothing and can walk you through options with your servicer, such as catching up, a repayment plan, forbearance, or a loan modification. The Maryland HOPE hotline, 1-877-462-7555, connects homeowners with those counselors. If you have court papers or a sale date, I also recommend talking with a Maryland attorney. I can’t promise to stop a foreclosure, and I won’t pressure you. If you and your counselor decide a sale makes sense, I’ll put a cash number next to a listing plan so you can compare. More here: behind on mortgage or facing foreclosure.

Will you buy an old mill house in Savage?
Yes. I like the old Savage houses. Foundations, wiring and small lots are things I price in, and you don’t have to fix any of them first.
Do you buy North Laurel townhomes in HOA communities?
Yes. Order the HOA resale package, and I’ll handle the rest at closing with the title company.
Can I sell a Savage house near the Little Patuxent if it floods?
Yes. Tell me what you know about past water, and I’ll factor it into my offer.
How fast can you buy my North Laurel house?
Once title is clear, we can close when you’re ready. Most of the waiting is on paperwork, not on me.
Where do I file probate for a Savage house?
At the Howard Register of Wills on Judicial Way in Ellicott City.
What if my North Laurel house has a second mortgage or a lien?
That’s common, and the title company pays those off from the sale proceeds at settlement. Order payoff letters early, or let the title company do it, so the numbers are clear before you sign.
